2025 Session I

Master Class & Elective Class

Session 1

6/9/2025 – 6/12/2025 | 2 PM – 5PM

All participants will have access to guest artist presentations and masterclasses. If you wish to perform in the masterclass, please indicate in the class sign up link.

Masterclass Performance Opportunity

Selected students will have the opportunity to perform a solo work in front of an audience and receive feedback from a masterclass teacher. Students may sign up using either their primary or secondary instrument.

A collaborative pianist is not required for participation. However, if you wish to perform with one, a list of available pianists will be provided to selected students. Students are responsible for arranging a rehearsal prior to camp and covering the pianist’s fee.

Elective Class

Please choose one of the following topics. Each class will meet four times during the session. If a class does not meet the minimum enrollment, C’est Bon faculty will reassign students to another class based on the best fit.

1. Baroque Ornaments & Improvisation with Daniel
All instruments | All levels

Learn how to add stylistically accurate Baroque ornaments and explore improvisation in a supportive and creative setting.

2. Sight Reading with Ilya

Build sight-reading confidence and fluency through engaging exercises tailored for pianists.

3. Piano Olympics with Rose

4. You Be the Judge with Craig
All string players

We’ve all played auditions before, but what is it like to be on the other side? In this interactive class, string players will learn what it’s like to be a judge at a music audition. We’ll discuss different audition formats and simulate judging at a major international competition. Who will you pick as the winner?

5. Kandinsky and Music with Robert
All instruments | All ages

Explore the connection between music and visual art using Kandinsky’s paintings as inspiration for musical interpretation and creativity.

6. Advanced String Studies with David
**
Advanced string players | Invitation only

An intensive elective for students invited based on their audition recordings submitted with the application. Students will work on advanced solo, chamber, or orchestral excerpt repertoire. Specific repertoire will be assigned at a later date in addition to the student’s chamber group placement.

Please choose your selection of class before advancing to the next page. If you plan to enroll in the masterclass, please ensure your video link is prepared. The video recording should feature the piece you wish to perform in the masterclass, with or without a pianist.
